As the bull, Taurus is known to beautify, stabilize and conserve.  It revels in the pleasures of life and craves security and comfort in the home.

With Venus as its ruling planet, this sign is feminine and associated with feminine colors like pink.  Taurus’ energy can be willful and sometimes stubborn, but they have a large capacity for kindness and are naturally devoted and loyal.

Taurus is the second sign of the zodiac and ruler of the second house, which is entered by the sun on or about April 20th.  The second house represents possessions and that which we own.  This is not just physical possessions but how we own our emotions, abilities, and desires.  Taurus loves physical pleasures and revels in excess which explains why they are tactile, tender beings with a sensual touch.

Taurus is a Fixed sign that begins in the middle of Spring, when the season is established. This leads them to being grounded and typically rooted in their tendencies. Spring is when nature begins its abundant fertility. Blossoms bud, grow stable and sustained which lead to the earthy and generous qualities of Taurus.  Since Taurus’ element is Earth, the most solid and densest form of matter, it represents a firm foundation for Taurus’ tendency for being methodical, patient and dependable.
