In Greek mythology, Aquarius was ‘cup-bearer to the Gods’. While tending his father’s flocks, the king of gods became so enamored of the beautiful boy that he flew down to the mountain in the form of a large bird, whisking him away to the heavens. Ever since, Aquarius has served as cupbearer to the gods.
